B.A.R.K. is a non-profit dog club for agility enthusiasts training in the greater Boston area. Our members are dedicated to working together using positive motivation to learn the skills of the engaging sport of dog agility. We are involved, first and foremost, for the fun of it. Our primary goal is to strengthen the bond between the dog and it's handler. Using agility equipment, we practice to develop better control and communications skills to truely make the dog and handler a team. The partnership formed while doing agility can translate into increased confidence for both the dog and owner.

B.A.R.K. was formed in 1993, the first agility club in the Boston area. For 12 years, we held practices on the grounds of Angell Memorial Animal Hospital under the auspices of the MSPCA. In the fall of 2004 we moved to the beautiful campus of Mt. Ida. Our spacious new training area is adjacent to their School of Animal Science, which offers training and grooming programs as well as a degree in veterinary technology. We are happy to be there.

We train in a fenced yard, outdoors on dirt and grass. The primary activity revolves around practice sessions with the club members working together. Sometimes we offer introductory classes when our more advanced members have time to teach. Our aim is to introduce dogs and their owners to the equipment and basic concepts of the sport. Take a look at photos of some our members having fun with agility. To learn more about agility, go to our links page. If you have further questions, please email us. Hope to see you around the yard.
